Rope access for Geotechnical work
BS 7985 / ISO courses are ideal for companies who wish to extend their capabilities in specific environments.

Practical sessions, including rescue (and individual assessment) are done outdoors on steep ground.

NOTE: This course is at User level - employers must ensure adequate supervision is provided for candidates following this course.

Elementary course for locations such as railway cuttings, embankments or rock outcrops.

Theoretical content includes requirements of BS 7985 and draft ISO working document ISO/WD 22846-2. Characteristics of a safe system of work, including equipment, legal requirements, objective hazards, risk assessment and method statements, conformity and certification, inspection, emergency considerations and rescue procedures.

Practical content includes requirements of ISO/WD 22846-2. Basic principles of movement on ropes - ascent, descent, changing from ascent to descent, changing from rope to rope, passing a deviation, use of a back-up system, elementary rigging and rope management, elementary rescue.

ACWAHT (Advisory Committee for Work at Height Training) syllabus is also covered in this course.
