heightec are pleased to now offer the GWO 2 day wind technician course and revalidations from our London centre.
The new GWO accredited course is run in its entirety at our height safety in Neasden, North London, rather than the dual site option previously required by the RUK.
The new course syllabus meets all the requirements of the GWO standard and also aligns with the RUK syllabus. However, by offering purely GWO certification you will no longer need to carry out a 15m height aptitude test as required by RUK.
So single certification, one stop shop, quick and easy access for new and revalidation technicians.
Courses are available from January 2017, but can be booked online now.
The GWO approved course is suitable for technicians who are required to access and work on wind turbine generators.
It covers the modules of the GWO Working at Heights standard over the 2 training days, including:
- elements of safe system of work
- equipment selection, maintenance and inspection
- risk assessment, method statements and emergency procedures
- use of restraint, work positioning and fall arrest systems
- evacuation and rescue using industry standard equipment
