This Tower Crane Rescue Exercise Assessment course aims to assess competence in the use of fall protection and rescue equipment by means of a team rescue scenario.
The half day course is intended for candidates who already hold the TRE9U (Tower Crane Rescue) certificate but wish to assess competence in the use of fall protection equipment and rescue equipment by use of a team rescue scenario.
On this course candidates will be presented with a rescue scenario and must be able to carry out the rescue as a team with minimal instructor involvement.
The course covers pre-use checks of equipment, awareness and understanding of the CRD rescue kit, selecting anchorages, the hazards involved in a rescue such as abrasion, edge hazards and choosing a safe rescue path, medical dangers of suspension intolerance and casualty handling.
The practical skills reviewed on this Tower Crane Rescue Exercise Assessment course include fitting a casualty harness, fitting a casualty into a rescue stretcher, attachment to the casualty, raising and lowering a casualty and the use of a tagline.
