Rope Rescue – User course provides the skills and knowledge required to move competently on ropes as required to assist in rope rescue operations.

A Rope Rescue – User candidate is able to undertake with a rescue operation as part of a team whilst under the supervised of a rope rescue supervisor.

After the course, candidates will be competent to maintain personal safety whilst carrying out a range of rescue techniques.

Theoretical content of our Rope Rescue – User course includes requirements of BS 7985 and draft ISO working document ISO/WD 22846-2. Characteristics of a safe system of work, including equipment, legal requirements, objective hazards, risk assessment, conformity and certification, inspection, emergency considerations and rescue procedures.

Practical content of our Rope Rescue – User course includes the requirements of ISO/WD 22846-2. Basic principles of movement on ropes – ascent, descent, changing from ascent to descent, changing from rope to rope, use of a back-up system, elementary rigging and rope management, elementary rescue.

Additional course content: Pulley systems and hauling, stretchers (methods of use), rigging rope rescue anchor systems, and throwlines and taglines,

Rope Rescue – Supervisor Course provides the skills and knowledge required to supervise rope rescue operations within a team.

Entry Requirements: RescuePack training or an equivalent foundation in elementary rope handling. An additional day's training is required for candidates with no prior experience. Minimum age 18. Must be fluent in English.

Medical Requirements: Physical fitness with no contra-indications for working at height. A self-certified statement of reasonable fitness will be requested prior to attendance.
