The Tower Climbing, Rescue & RF Overview – Revalidation course is designed as Refresher training for any person required to climb on masts or towers or for existing climbers who wish to renew their tower climbing and rescue certification.
Our Tower Climbing, Rescue & RF Overview – Revalidation course reviews all of the essential elements of the two day Tower Climber and rescue course, including updates on legislation and codes of practice, observed mock work situation, use of all PPE and practice of live rescue in descent.
The course also revalidates a range of skills previously covered by candidates in the tower climbing and rescue course including:- the use of all safety equipment, tower rescue, climbing techniques on ladders and tall structures and restraint, work positioning, and fall arrest systems.
Practical exercises with classroom lectures. Emergency procedures are followed by evacuation and rescue which are practised at height.

NB: PLEASE NOTE THE TOWER RESCUE ELEMENT WILL REQUIRE REVALIDATION ANNUALLY.
The RF section is not sufficient to gain access to Arqiva sites – please refer to RF Hazards Awareness and Monitoring (Course Ref: TSK4U) half day course.
The Mast & Tower Safety Group (MATS) have created two new training standards which will come into effect from 2nd April 2018. From this date, our existing Tower Climbing, Rescue & RF Overview (ref: TTS2U) will be extended to comply with the new MATS standards.
The Tower Climbing & Rescue Course (ref: TTS2U) will increase to 3 days to extend the practical elements in line with the standard. The new 3 day course is aimed at new starters who will benefit from additional practical training on typical telecoms structures and in rescue techniques. Revalidation will be required annually.
Please note: After the 2nd April 2018, the Tower Climbing & Rescue Course (ref: TTS2U) and the Tower Climbing & Rescue Revalidation Course (ref: TTS2UR) will no longer include an RF overview module.
Candidates who require RF Hazards training should complete the RF Hazards Awareness & Monitoring 0.5 day course (ref: TSK4U).
All of these courses are approved for the ARQIVA Gateway system.
