The Work at Height Emergency First Aid syllabus includes sessions on the types of care available to a casualty at height, together with consideration related to moving the casualty and possible rescue.
For people who wish to work in remote ares and may be required to administer first aid. This course covers the requirements of the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW).
The Work at Height Emergency First Aid course covers both AED and casualty care training.
Also contains practical scenarios to assess, stabilise and monitor the condition of a casualty then package them with the minimum of equipment.
Skills covered include: Basic hygiene for first aid procedures, head injury, spinal injury, prompt and effective communication, recognition and monitoring of Hyper / hypo thermia, the effects of suspension intolerance in a suspended casualty, primary and secondary surveys, airway management, injury assessment, bleeding control and spinal management techniques
This Work at Height Emergency First Aid course is not intended to teach the elementary use of fall protection equipment. It is essential that all candidates are already competent in such use, including an understanding of how to fit and use a harness, the need for safe connection at all times and the use of an energy absorbing lanyard.
