Practical course for people who work on tower cranes or tall structures, to enable them to evacuate or rescue another person.
Tower Crane Rescue training course is intended for people who may be required to rescue and/or evacuate a casualty from tower cranes or other tall structures e.g. cab, crane structure, ladder, walkway, or where a casualty is suspended from a lanyard after a fall.
This practical course gives participants the skills in how use heightec’s ROTOR constant rate descender device (CRD) system to rescue a casualty to the ground. Raising or lowering techniques can be employed using the ROTOR Rescue System to allow movement to a safe descent location.
Includes information on anchor point selection, identification of safe descent paths, care of casualty and how to correctly handle a casualty who has been suspended in a harness and the risks associated with harness suspension.
Practical exercises on the Tower Crane Rescue course include the fitting of a full body harness, use of fall protection lanyards, casualty harness and stretcher fitting as well as the use of a rescue extension pole.
Safety footwear required for all practical sessions.
This rescue training course complies with the requirements of Construction Plant-hire Association technical note TIN013 Rescue of Personnel From Height on Tower Cranes.
Participants are required to re-validate their certificate after three years.
