The GWO Advanced Rescue Training Refresher course combines the following core modules:
- Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Refresher (ART-NR)
- Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue Refresher (ART-HR)
The training course will enable participants to review and build on their knowledge previously gained in the initial GWO Advanced Rescue Training course to perform entry-type injured person rescue operation in a wind turbine generator (WTG), using industry standard rescue equipment, rescue methods and rescue techniques.
The GWO ART Refresher course will also refresh the GWO Working at Height certificate.
To complete the GWO Advanced Rescue Training Refresher course, participants must hold valid and in date certificates for the following GWO courses:
- GWO Working at Height
- GWO First Aid
- GWO Manual Handling
- GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART) – Nacelle, Tower & Basement
The GWO Advanced Rescue Training Refresher course syllabus includes the following:
- Introduction
- Emergency response plan
- Knowledge review: working at height
- Control measures & warm up to prevent injury during training
- Manual handling
- Working at height – rescue from ladder
- Working at height – self evacuation
- Evacuation of an injured person from the Nacelle to the base of the tower
- Rescue from enclosed space
- Rescue from crawl space
- Rescue up
- Evaluation
Training certificates are issued online via GWO’s WINDA system and valid for two years.
